April 2005 - APL merge with Jay Jones
Two of the country’s leading names in profit recovery have today announced their intention to merge.
Leeds based APL, specialists in accounts payable auditing will merge with the renowned profit recovery company Jay Jones Ltd. The merger will see the two companies form the largest UK owned organisation in the sector.
Jay Jones Ltd specialises in the audit of property and overhead expenditure, which makes a perfect partnership according to MD James Cook: “This is just the sort of operation that many commentators have been calling for, a single UK owned company able to audit all aspects of a company’s transactions from purchase ledger to property”.
The new company, will continue to operate from one central location in Leeds, and will mean that APL will boast a total of nearly 50 years experience with an impressive list of clients.
The merger will enable the group to exploit the markets previously covered by the original two companies separately. APL traditionally focused on major retail clients whilst Jay Jones operates within a niche market including working with some of the countries leading Banking, Insurance, Retail and Public Sector organisations.
Jay Jones is at the forefront of taking Profit Recovery Auditing to new business sectors through a unique agreement with global real estate adviser DTZ Debenham Tie Leung. It has developed sector specific auditing methodology and is attracting great interest, especially from the Health Sector where Profit Recovery Auditing was a previously unknown service.
